NHS HEALTH CHECKS – INFORMATION

If you have been contacted regarding an NHS health check or you have one booked in, you might find this BBC Sounds recording useful, please see link below:
One of the things that an NHS health check might identify, is that you may be suitable to begin taking statin tablets. This recording may help you decide if this is something you would consider, prior to your appointment and receiving your results.
Invites to NHS health checks are being sent out gradually, all those eligible will be contacted at some point. If you have already had a text message and you want to book in, please give our reception team a call.

See your prescriptions on the NHS app!

Patients can now view their prescriptions on the NHS App, including repeat prescriptions, and one-off prescriptions.

Patients can use the NHS App to:

  • view items prescribed
  • the prescription type (repeat or one-off)
  • who the prescribing professional is

This gives patients earlier visibility of exactly what their healthcare provider has prescribed for them and what they will then collect or receive from pharmacies.

Patients without a nominated pharmacy will also be able to view a prescription barcode in their NHS App. This barcode can be presented to a pharmacist without having to collect a paper prescription from their GP.

NHS APP INFORMATION ..

Do you have the NHS app, you might notice a few changes soon. Please see information below for details:

NHS COVID Pass closing
From 4 December 2023, the NHS COVID Pass service will close and be unavailable to patients. This is because there are no longer any domestic requirements to demonstrate vaccination status (and from 24 November 2023, there are no countries which require proof of COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of entry).

You will still be able to see this info in your GP health record on the NHS App, but the COVID Pass is no longer needed.

NHS App redesign
The NHS App has been redesigned to make it simpler for patients to find and access services. Over the coming weeks, patients will start to see an updated home page, simpler structure, and easier-to-understand language within the NHS App.

Some services have moved within the NHS App, but all the services patients need are still available.
